FISERV FORUM

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN

The Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee is the dynamic new home of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks. Sports & The Arts was retained by the Bucks to design and develop an immersive art collection for the venue. Thirty-two artists contributed 75 original commissioned works across a range of mediums, complemented by 50 framed photographs and several graphic installations. Together, these pieces spark curiosity and help define the Forum as a one-of-a-kind destination.

Connecting the local community is central to every Sports & The Arts project. At Fiserv Forum, three large-scale artworks were developed in collaboration with more than 200 local students, ages 3 to 19.

To engage local talent, Sports & The Arts issued an open call for artists that generated more than 1,200 submissions across diverse mediums including sculpture, mosaic, found objects, and oil on canvas. Of the 32 artists featured, 18 are from Wisconsin or have strong ties to the state.

Buckley, mixed media sculpture, Blake McFarland
This freestanding sculpture, located on the main concourse is constructed of basketball leather and netting. McFarland, a former major league pitcher turned artist, created this 9’ long by 9’ high sculpture by hand cutting and dying authentic basketball leather into various hues of brown. MacFarland then painstakingly arranged them onto the form creating the illusion of muscle and tone. This has fast become the social media destination at Fiserv Forum.
